How to get saved and go to heaven:
1. Realize that you are a sinner
Realize that you have disobeyed God's law, which the Bible calls sin.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
2. Realize that there is a penalty for your sins.
The Bible says that death is the penalty for our sins.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death;"
However, it does not end there. There is what the Bible calls the second death, which is eternal torment in hell, which will be relocated to a lake of fire at the end of the world.
Revelation 20:14 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."
3. Realize that the Lord Jesus Christ paid for the penalty of your sins when He died on the cross.
God the Son became a man, lived a sinless life, and suffered the penalty for the sins of the whole world when He shed His blood and died on the cross. After He died, He was buried in a tomb, and three days later He rose again.
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Isaiah 53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed."
Ephesians 1:7 "In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
4. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will go to heaven!
The only way to get to heaven is to believe on (trust) the Lord Jesus Christ to save you. Trust that He shed His blood and died on the cross to pay for your sins and trust Him to get you to heaven, and you will be saved. Salvation is a free gift paid for by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. All you have to do is accept it. No amount of good works is going to save you. You don't have to be baptized, stop sinning, or go to church to be saved. All you have to do is accept the Lord Jesus Christ's gift of salvation and you can be one hundred percent sure that you will be going to heaven when you die. The only sin you have to stop to be saved is your unbelief.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Acts 16:30-31 "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
John 3:18 "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
John 11:25 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Romans 4:4-5 "Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."
It must be known though, believing that Jesus exists will not save anyone. You need to believe ON Him, putting all your faith ON Him to get you to Heaven.
Once you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you are saved forever, and there is nothing you can do to lose your salvation. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." If a person lost their salvation, then it would not be true that they had everlasting life. Eternal life cannot cease, and thus it cannot be lost. Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," Ephesians 4:30 "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." When you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you are SEALED, there is no way you can lose your salvation.
You can pray to Jesus, asking Him to forgive you and save you if you want. However, understand that it is not the prayer that saves you; you can trust Jesus as your Savior in your heart without saying any prayer whatsoever and you will be saved.
If you want to pray, pray like this:
" Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I deserve to go to hell. But I believe that You died on the cross and shed Your blood to pay for my sins. I now am trusting You and You alone to save me from hell and take me to heaven. Amen."
If you have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, rest assured that you are saved and going to heaven, and there is no way that you can ever lose your salvation! If you don't believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you are going to burn forever.
